About

Nice to meet you!

I’m Sheryll, a former journalist, reluctant scuba diver, and now an aspiring author. I split my time living in the Old Town section of Alexandria, Virginia, and the beautiful Lost River Valley in West Virginia, with my husband and our two tuxedo cats, Porto and Parma.

I have a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and an MA in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University. As a newspaper and online reporter, I covered a wide range of topics, including business, real estate, technology, politics, and international trade policy. I then spent eight years as a senior writer and editor at a large business association in Washington, D.C. Over the last 11 years, I’ve created content for some of the nation’s biggest and most influential membership associations as a freelance writer.

Now, I’m working on FINAL DIVE, a scuba-based destination thriller set in Bali that blends the “tourists behaving badly” elements of White Lotus with the vigilante justice of “Blood Sugar” by Sascha Rothchild.
